Paxton Lynch to start against Raiders

ESPN's Dan Graziano reports that the Broncos have made a decision to name Paxton Lynch their starting quarterback for Week 12 against the Oakland Raiders.

Denver traded up to select Lynch in the first-round of the 2016 NFL Draft, but the former Memphis star has had issues adjusting to the speed of the NFL and playing in a pro-style offense. Quarterback play has been a liability for the Broncos all season. Given the current direction of the team over the last month and a half, there's a chance they'll have a high draft pick and an opportunity to select another QB to take the reins of the franchise moving forward if they don't have confidence in Lynch.

Paxton Lynch will be named the starting quarterback for the Broncos this week, an NFL league source told sports director Nick Griffith on Tuesday. Osweiler played even worse in his place and lost all three games he started. However, many knew he would be a project and it would take a while to develop him, so it is possible that he is starting to show that he can take over as the team's starter. In his second start, in Week 12 against the Jaguars, Lynch was just 12-for-24 for 104 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions, but Denver won the game.

"I feel good", Lynch said of his shoulder on Monday.

Interim offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave is expected to install a simplified offensive gameplan for Denver's game against the Raiders with Lynch's skillset specifically in mind.
