OnePlus 5T Launched: Price, Specifications And Availability

The phone wil be available in India on and, as well as offline through select Croma stores. What's really intriguing, though, is the short time between announcements for OnePlus.

The much awaited OnePlus 5T is now official. Design You know what?

Plenty has been spoiled about the OnePlus 5T ever since the OnePlus 5 went out of production. Both phones are still constructed from a mixture of metal and glass, though. For the most part, the three dark coatings applied to the body, which are 14 microns thick, does nicely to mask those antenna lines in the back - making for a more cohesive look. The silver back has been switched to black and the fingerprint sensor has been moved from below the display to beneath the camera. The device also features Facial Recognition for unlocking the device. Still, if the screen is important, the OnePlus 5T delivers the best screen this company has to offer. As for the design, the design features a bezel-less look, more ergonomic design, and the Alert Slider is still on the left edge. But hey, at least they kept the headphone jack, so kudos for that! That's where the new OnePlus 5T comes in, with upgrades like a bigger 6-inch display. It boasts vibrant colors and great viewing angles, though we do wish it had a higher resolution. In fact, this particular AMOLEAD display doesn't seem to be plagued by any distortion from what we can see.

The device comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat-based OxygenOS 4.7.1 out of the box. Call it a mixture of work and play, you could run apps like Skype simultaneously with your personal and work accounts. The phone unlocks as soon as it is anywhere near the face and there is hardly any delay. Beyond that, many of OxygenOS' returning favorite features include reading mode, expanded screenshot, gaming do not disturb, auto night mode, and much more.

The OnePlus 5T comes with the same main camera as that of OnePlus 5, but there is improvememt in secondary camera for superior low-light photography with f/1.7 aperture.

OnePlus 5T Launch Begins in New York City: Live Updates

The processor is Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon chip, the 835, and it's packed with a lot of RAM and backed by a large battery. The 5T will ring in at $499 for the entry-level model with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, and $559 for the deluxe unit with 8 GB of memory and 128 GB of flash.

However, it does retail at an attractive price of USD499 (around RM2,079) for the 64GB variant and USD559 (around RM2,330) for the 128GB variant. There is no microSD expansion, so choose wisely.

The latter features Intelligent Pixel Technology, merging four pixels into one to ensure improved low light performance. The primary sensor is 16-megapixel while the depth sensor is of 20-megapixel. OnePlus default calibration is excellent, balancing saturated colors with accuracy, but you can tweak it towards something more to your liking in display settings.

Of course, the objective of the dual-cameras is to offer that cool portrait mode - wherein subjects remain sharp, while the background is blown out with that creamy bokeh effect.
