Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said on Thursday that his side needs to maintain their strength at home in order to make up ground on the teams above them in the Premier League.

He added, "Two years ago when we finished above them we were disappointed because we didn't win the title".

He was in charge the last time Arsenal defeated Spurs in a Premier League match in 2014.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has shot down claims his side are the underdogs ahead of Saturday's north London derby against Tottenham.

Harry Winks, Dele Alli and Harry Kane have all returned to training for Tottenham and could feature.

Arsenal head into Saturday's game looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League after their 3-1 defeat by Manchester City at The Etihad before the global break.

But to really consolidate their new-found status, the visitors will need to put in an assertive display against Arsenal on Saturday.

Alexandre Lacazette is likely to return to the starting XI having been left on the bench against Manchester City, but Olivier Giroud is set to miss out with a thigh injury.

Spurs have made an encouraging start to the season. In many respects, he has delivered exactly what was promised - six goals have come in the eleven Premier league appearances that have since transpired - and yet something still seems amiss about the Frenchman's Arsenal career.

Tottenham have won only two of their last 32 away league visits to face Arsenal (W2 D13 L17), winning 3-1 at Highbury in May 1993 and 3-2 at the Emirates in November 2010. They now sit third in the Premier League and are through to the last-16 of the Champions League.

Both teams have scored on 34 occasions, more than any other fixture in the competition.

The match, which kicks off at 12:30 GMT in England, will be shown on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event.
