Terry Crews files police report claiming sexual assault by Hollywood honcho

Nov 10, 2017, 01:00

Terry Crews filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on Wednesday, a month after publicly alleging on Twitter he was sexually assaulted by a "high-level" Hollywood executive, Captain Cory Palka with the LAPD Hollywood station confirmed to Variety. When asked why he made a decision to file the police report, Terry replies, "Because you know, people have to held accountable".

Crews told TMZ that he also plans to file a civil lawsuit. That man has since been unmasked as Adam Venit, who has been reportedly been placed on leave by WME.

In a lengthy thread, Crews, 49, claimed a high-powered honcho grabbed his crotch and afterward, "grinned like a jerk".

It is not clear if the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star's meeting involved formalizing his previously stated sexual assault allegations against a Hollywood executive.

"I thought twice about how the whole thing would appear: "240 lbs".

Crews tweeted that he talked to everyone he knew about the incident, and the exec even called him the day after to apologize, but "never really explained why he did what he did".

Venit does not represent Crews, but he does represent the likes of Eddie Murphy, Diane Keaton and Russell Brand.

"I let it go", he said. He revealed that he contacted the man's colleagues the next day and received an apology but "decided not 2 take it further becuz I didn't want 2b ostracized - par 4 the course when the predator has power n influence".

At that time, he concluded by saying, "I understand and empathise with those who have remained silent".

He cited the Harvey Weinstein sexual assault and harassment scandal as his motivation for coming forward.
