IOS 11 glitch: Apple working on fix for iPhone autocorrect bug

When trying to type the lowercase letter "i", autocorrect replaces the word with the letter "A" and a question mark symbol. This is needed to prevent the character from being automatically corrected to garbage.

Apple said in an online post on Monday that a future update should fix the error. "A fix will be released very soon".

Just how important is the letter "i"? It's a known bug.

So far, there is n0 wo½rd on exactly when an µpdate for the prÕblem could arrA˜ve.

The iOS 11.2 update is making progress which means iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users are starting to shift their attention from iOS 11.1 to iOS 11.2.

The iOS 11.2 probably won't deliver new emojis, but it's shaping up to be another solid milestone release for Apple's mobile devices.

Once the feature is enabled, iPhone and Apple Watch users will be issued with a virtual debit card which can be used to fund any purchases made during Apple Pay.

Are you getting a odd symbol when you try to type the letter "I" on your iPhone?

It appears to affect users of iOS 10 [pictured above] and iOS 11, and has also been reported as happening to users of Apple's Mac computers too.

Here the user can resort to text replacement.

Well thanks to quick thinking, a number of easy fix steps were highlighted which include: downloading a 3 party keyboard from Apple's App store or turning off the predictive text on the settings menu. You can download a third-party keyboard app to override the Apple keyboard and type "i" freely without issue.
