Rose Namajunas dominates Joanna Jedrzejczyk to win UFC women's strawweight championship

The women's strawweight title bout was part of the main card of today's UFC 217 event at Madison Square Garden in NY.

"... I want my belt back and that's the thing, it's probably going to be the biggest goal right now to get my belt back because s**t happens everywhere, so it was a mistake, it was a big surprise".

Nearly immediately afterward, Jedrzejczyk's loss was compared to Rousey's 2015 defeat to Holly Holm, which ended her undefeated streak, while facing a similarly stoic opponent like Namajunas.

Jedrzejczyk was unable to tie the record, suffering a knockout defeat against new champion Rose Namajunas. 13 weeks I was training with American Top Team. "If I get the rematch we will see, I am looking forwards". But as expected, Jedrzejczyk took the loss like the champion she was during her memorable reign as queen in the strawweight division.

"Big congrats to Rose". Rose, I'm happy for her.

At a UFC 217 press conference where Bisping and Garbrandt took the headlines for bickering with their opponents, this chilling threat from Jedrzejczyk was something we are glad the Embedded crew picked up. "But I will be back stronger". I think I've been a good athlete and good champion for the UFC.

Heading into the bout, Namajunas was the heavy underdog with very few giving her a chance against the seemingly invincible champion. On one hand, since Jedrzejczyk defended the strawweight belt five times, one could make the case she's deserving of an immediate rematch.
