Congress fled battlefield, to grieve in coming days: PM Narendra Modi

I haven't come here to ask you to make BJP win.

He added: "There should not be even one polling booth where this termite called the Congress is allowed to thrive". But now more than three lakh tonne of apples are being imported from US, China and New Zealand. But some problems remain of some states, who are stakeholders, says PM Modi. Only development can take coming generation on to our desired path, said PM Modi.

"We want to change lives in villages in India be it roads, railways, air, highways".

"These last-ditch efforts were unlikely, however, to yield results as the people of the state had seen the devastation wreaked by the BJP wherever it was in power, including at the national level", he said.

No "panja" (Congress symbol) can target a poor man's wealth now. He also said that he will be overseeing the analysis on the "benami" properties and will be ruthless in weeding out any corrupted leaders. "But after six months of this announcement, the reality is that mostly there is no flight between Delhi and Shimla or if there is one, the fare is over Rs 15,000", he said.

On the other hand, the BJP is mainly banking on popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been accusing the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh of rampant corruption and misgovernance.

Launching yet another salvo at the Congress for spearheading the Opposition's plan to observe November 8, the anniversary of demonetisation, as "Black Day", PM Modi alleged that the party was still seething after its illegitimate wealth got wiped out due to the note ban.

"Elections are a few days away and senior leaders generally do an intensive campaign in these last few days".

Capt Amarinder said it was obvious that the Prime Minister had realized that the BJP was headed for an electoral rout and had pitched all his personal efforts into salvaging the situation, in the bleak hope that he would be able to befool the people. "Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister from Congress is known for corruption".

PM Modi was addressing rally in Himachal Pradesh's Sundar Nagar.
