JK Rowling slams Donald Trump Jr's Halloween 'socialism' tweet

Donald Trump Jr. on Tuesday evening marked Halloween by tweeting that he would redistribute his child's candy to "teach her about socialism". "It's never to early to teach her about socialism", the president's eldest son tweeted on Tuesday along with a photo of his daughter dressed as a police officer and holding a bucket of candies. "Man who inherited money from his father, has lessons on making it on your own".

Adam Weinstein suggested: "You should promise her some candy to make you look good, but give her nothing anyway". It's never to early to teach her about socialism.

Weinstein, a journalist, was referring to President Donald Trump's so far unfulfilled promise to send a $25,000 check to the family of a soldier killed in Afghanistan. Maybe Trump just wanted the lion's share of his kid's Halloween candy for himself. "Give some of the free candy she got to children who couldn't go out to get free candy", another wrote.

Meanwhile Chloe dresses as a cop to teach her dad about how he's going to prison soon.

A year ago he posted an image containing the caption: "If I had a bowl of Skittles and I told you just three would kill you, would you take a handful?"

Rather than socialism - a political system is defined by the government controlling the means of production and the distribution of goods and services - it appears Trump Jr. was actually talking about good old-fashioned sharing.

Previously, shortly after his children had chosen their respective costumes, he wrote on Instagram: "Kids have their costumes ready".

To which Trump Jr. replied: "That's cute".

There is also of course, the irony that Halloween candy.is.well, literally a handout.
