Was that Ellie's mom in The Last of Us Part 2 trailer?

Still not excited? Well, you should be.

Sony unveiled a new trailer for The Last of Us Part II at Paris Games Week today, and it's a wild, insanely dark, five minute ride. But be warned as it is kind of... ehm... disturbing.

The Last of Us Part 2 hasn't determined its release date yet. Both of them look older and more grizzled: Joel with his fair share of grey hairs and Ellie showing off her fancy new tattoo and telling us that she's going to, "kill them all". We're not exaggerating here: if you're even mildly affected by cruelty, it's probably best to give this trailer a miss.

"The Last of Us, at its heart, is about Joel and Ellie and their journey, but it's also an ensemble piece with all these other characters fitting into that theme, and this time we wanted to focus on some other really important characters".

So, stay tuned for more fellas! Then again, when I think back to playing the first game and, for example, having to guide Ellie through that burning building as that insane dude was coming after her and trying to kill her, the game has never shied away from intensity. The trailer stars three women, none of whom we've seen before. She says she is, and orders him to cut the hanging woman down. A bang to the forehead with a claw hammer, courtesy of The Last of Us Part 2. Last but not the least - the fourth character that we saw is voiced by Laura Bailey - Naughty Dog did reveal the in-game name for her, but smartly CENSORED it.
