Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels special edition includes racing version

The auto wears an orange shade on the outside called Crush meant to remind of the orange tracks Hot Wheels makes.

In addition to some sleek black striping, this "Crush" colored life-sized model includes impressive details like satin graphite ground effects, black tail lamps and orange brake calipers. It will go on sale in the first quarter of 2018 as a $4,995 option on the Camaro 2LT and 2SS coupe and convertible models, which start at $31,500 including shipping. It's an appearance package that acts as a tie in for the Camaro range with the Hot Wheel's 50th anniversary. Dark taillights and black bowtie emblems help complete the orange contrast. The kneepads on the doors are orange as are the seatbelts. Additional 50 Anniversary Hot Wheels badges are found on the steering wheel and illuminated doorsill. The front-seat head restraints have been embossed, and orange stitching adorns the floor mats.

For 2018, the COPO Camaro can be had with three different powertrains. New this year is a 302 race engine based on the LT1 from the 2018 Camaro SS but with drag-ready components. The COPO Camaro (short for "Central Office Production Order") has a history, as well - it is available to order as a single part number, paying homage to a special model ordered by an Illinois Chevy dealer back in 1969 with a special engine.

Like previous COPO Camaros, the 2018 model is designed for NHRA's Stock Eliminator classes and is fitted with racing chassis and suspension components, including a unique solid rear axle system in place of a regular production Camaro's independent rear axle. With this engine equipped, the COPO Camaro can reach speeds of 160 miles per hour and achieve a mid-eight-second quarter-mile out on the strip. The package is also being offered on the COPO drag racing version of the vehicle, which is not street legal.

Like past years, there will only be 69 examples of the 2018 COPO Camaro built and buying one begins with registering on the Chevrolet website.

The standard auto is limited to just 2,500 units.
