The bank is always open for Andrew Wiggins

Andrew Wiggins thwarted the Oklahoma City Thunder's comeback bid, launcing a game-winning three-pointer as time expired to lift the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 115-113 National Basketball Association triumph on Sunday.

Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns led Minnesota (2-1) with 27 points apiece.

The Brooklyn Nets, stung by the injury to Jeremy Lin in the first game of the season, nevertheless notched a second straight victory with a 116-104 home win over the Atlanta Hawks. Kyle Kuzma also scored 20 for Los Angeles, and Lonzo Ball had eight points, eight rebounds, 13 assists and five turnovers.

Through three games, Wiggins is averaging 24.9 points per game and is shooting 42 percent from three-point range.

The Timberwolves kept their lead in the third quarter as they finished the period 27-21 and increased the difference to double-digits of 13 points.

Midway through the second quarter, the Thunder answered a 14-8 run and tied the score at 43-43.

Just as the Thunder fans started to celebrate, Wiggins broke their hearts in Oklahoma City. But still, the Timberwolves were in front at the end of the halftime with 61-54.

The Pelicans led by 22 points in the second quarter and were still up by double figures heading into the final period, but the Lakers made a charge to take the lead despite a poor shooting night from rookie Lonzo Ball. Towns shot 11 of 17 from the floor, while also hauling in 12 rebounds. Wiggins, on the other hand, added seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 39 minutes off the bench. Carmelo Anthony and the OCT thought they already won the game with just five seconds left for the opponent to score back.

Who cares if Andrew Wiggins threw up a prayer and hit a lucky bank shot buzzer-beater?
