Thomas shares lead with Brown in Jeju

Coming off a disappointing 74, Thomas carded a two-under 70 to move into nine under in Jeju, South Korea.

Justin Thomas of the United States lines up his putt on the second hole during the third round of the CJ Cup golf tournament at Nine Bridges on Jeju Island, South Korea, Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017.

But the 2017 PGA Championship victor would rally to drain three birdies over the next four holes, including one on the massive par five 12th where he would get a lucky bounce and end up no less than 461 yards down the fairway.

India's Anirban Lahiri shares third place with Leishman and will play in the final group with Brown and Thomas as he takes aim at a maiden PGA Tour victory. Three-time tour victor Lucas Glover compensated for a pair of bogeys with seven birdies in a 67 and was tied for second with Scott Brown, who had a 70.

The 23-year-old, who is aiming to become the first Malaysian to win the Asian Tour Order of Merit, started the third round on the back nine and was on a high when he scored a birdie on the 12th and an eagle on the 14th.

"It was playing tough today", Brown said. He had just 137 yards remaining on his approach (and made birdie). "I just made some clutch up-and-downs to kind of keep the round going".

Whee Kim (72) is tied for fifth at 6 under for the best finish among 16 South Korean players in the field.

Jason Day is next best of the Australians at T16 after a 1-under 71 to be six off the pace while Adam Scott produced his best round of the week, a 2-under 70 that outs him at 1-over and T28.

Overnight leader Luke List found the windy conditions hard and slumped to a 4-over 76 which dropped him to T8, Lucas Glover also falling down the standings after a 2-over 74. List had three bogeys on the front nine and a pair of double bogeys on the back nine.

More wind is forecast for the final round on Sunday.
