Aston Martin DB11 Volante Packs Twin-Turbo 4.0-Liter V-8

The infotainment system uses the same technology as we saw in the DB11 coupe, and there's the familiar lashings of leather, real metal, and other materials that, if you have the budget, Aston Martin's team will let you customized to your heart's content.

ASTON MARTIN has launched a stunning all-new luxury convertible, the DB11 Volante, which joins the DB11 Coupe which went on sale late previous year. This 8-layer roof folds into what Aston Martin is calling a "class-leading stack height", and it takes just 14 seconds to lower and 16 seconds to close. The results? The DB11 Volante passed with flying colors. The newest DB11 is powered by a 4.0L V8 turbo engine generating 503 hp. And its performance is great too-Aston quotes a 4.1-second 0-62 miles per hour time, and it'll hit 187 miles per hour flat out.

The stunning drop-top was put through more than 100,000 test cycles in special weather chambers created to simulate the conditions of the harshest environments in the world.

The AMG-sourced V8 produces 503bhp and 513lb ft of torque, which means it will do 0-62mph in 4.1sec and a top speed of 187mph.

Inside the DB11 Volante features a new wood or carbon fibre veneer panels on the seat backs, and creature comforts such as a heated steering wheel to encourage all-season open-air motoring. For reference, the coupe is one tenth quicker to 62 and has the same electronically limited top speed. It can be operated remotely from the key, or on the move at speeds of up to 31mph with a 31mph headwind.

"The challenge of creating a convertible auto is retaining structural and dynamic integrity".

The new convertible joins the DB11 Coupe which was launched, and is built around the same all-new bonded aluminium structure.

Also helping to boost versatility, the DB11 Volante comes with ISOFIX attachment points in the rear seats for the first time, and boot space has been increased thanks to a clever fabric roof that allows for 20 per cent more cargo room. Introducing the Aston Martin DB11 Volante, where "beauty is a world above", according to the company. From what we can see, Aston Martin has another stunner in its growing line-up.
