Giants Suspend Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie After He Decided to Leave Team

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has been suspended by the Giants after showing up to practice Wednesday and leaving shortly thereafter, Ben McAdoo said. We had a conversation that was personal upstairs and he came in today, chose to leave.

According to the team on Twitter, Rodgers-Cromartie showed up to work on Wednesday and then chose to tell the team he was leaving (!?!).

When asked further questions, McAdoo repeatedly declined to give any more information on the suspension, including the subject of his conversation with Rodgers-Cromartie and the length of the suspension. "We will suspend him".

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the suspension stemmed from a "heated" argument between Rodgers-Cromartie and McAdoo that began when the cornerback was pulled from Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Cromartie, the Cardinals' first-round pick in the 2008 National Football League draft, spent three seasons in Arizona before stints with the Eagles, Broncos and Giants.

Things just keep getting worse for the New York Giants.

The Giants have a bye after that, so Shepard would conceivably get three weeks to treat his left ankle injury before returning to action. Apple vented to reporters after the loss to the Chargers about "the whole culture" of the Giants.

"I never really go in the season with expectations, because I always know there's going to be highs and lows of the season", Rodgers-Cromartie said. Ross Cockrell entered the game when the Giants used their nickel sub-package, bumping Rodgers-Cromartie back inside.
