Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said his government is committed to promote the IIT brand across the globe.

Modi said, "When Madhavsinh Solankiji was CM (of Gujarat), I remember front page advertisements that CM was coming to Jamnagar to inaugurate a water tank".

The trip will begin with a visit to Dwarkadheesh Temple tomorrow morning. "Composition scheme has been made more attractive and other facilitation measures will make the GST even more people-friendly and effective", PM Modi had said. As per the reports, Modi has also laid the foundation stone of four-lane cable that stayed signature bridge between Okha and Beyt in Dwarka.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi had visited the same temple in September and raised issues related to unemployment, farmers' distress and failed economic policies of the Modi government. "Had already stated earlier that we would look into GST for three months and make changes, mend loopholes as per the experience", PM Modi said.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister laid the Foundation Stones for a greenfield airport in Rajkot, six-laning of Ahmedabad-Rajkot National Highway and four-laning of Rajkot-Morbi State Highway. "And thus, the decisions were taken with consensus at the GST council".

After Dwarka, Modi also laid the foundation stone for the Rs 2,500-crore Rajkot International Airport on the outskirts of the biggest city in Saurashtra.

Gujarat's election is scheduled to take place at the end of this year. PMGDISHA is aimed at imparting digital literacy to citizens in rural areas. The PM also said that academics should not be only exam driven but the focus should be on innovation.

The prime minister's school teacher, Dr Prahlad Patel, said he hopes to meet Narendra Modi who writes letters to him occasionally.

He is on a two-day visit to poll-bound Gujarat, this is his third Gujarat visit in a month.

Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday, had also assured that glitches would be fixed in an hour-long speech on the Indian economy. The Prime Minister will distribute e-tablets to health workers to mark the launch of ImTeCHO. And before flying off to New Delhi from Vadodara, the foundation stone for Rs 3,000-crore Bhadbhut barrage project over river Narmada, as well as a Rs 650-crore Dahej-Ghogha Ro-Ro ferry service near Bharuch in South Gujarat would be laid by Modi.
