TURNS OUT Florida's Legendary Rocker Tom Petty Is Really Dead After All

"We are devastated to announce the untimely death of our father, husband, brother, leader and friend Tom Petty", Petty's manager Tony Dimitriades said in a statement.

The 66-year-old was found unconscious in his home Monday night and was rushed to UCLA Medical Center. Petty died yesterday evening in Santa Monica surrounded by family, friends and bandmates.

From his original band Mudcrutch to The Heartbreakers to the Traveling Wilburys supergroup and into his solo stuff, here are the five most underrated songs Tom Petty ever.

"He [my son] came up, and he said, 'Sorry, Dad.' And Katie [my wife], she said, 'The best thing of all was that, he he may of died but he's gonna live forever.' And I think that's the handsome thing about music and recording music is that people will always know about Tom Petty", said Hollister.

Days earlier, Petty and his Heartbreakers would perform penultimate shows at the Hollywood Bowl celebrating the band's 40th anniversary.

"I was very young, a kid, and I remember thinking at the time I must have been the youngest person in the whole stadium...'Refugee' is my favorite song by Tom Petty".

"I'm thinking it may be the last trip around the country", Petty told Rolling Stone past year.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member had a big impact on the lives of people who listened to his songs, including Daniel Page.

Many clips were posted of Petty performing, either by himself, with The Heartbreakers, or with a plethora of talent such as Jeff Lynne, Prince, Stevie Nicks, Bob Dylan and many more. I loved that, the desire to hear his music on the radio and the hubris and ambition to put it there. "Growing up in the Midwest, it's sort of unavoidable to be influenced or grow up on Tom Petty".

Following the minute of silence, Peter Buck joined the band for this wonderful rendition of Freefalling by Tom Petty.
