IPhone 8 sales start at etisalat and du tomorrow

The iPhone 8's battery has a little less juice than the battery inside its predecessor - 6.96 watt-hours vs. 7.45 watt-hours, although according to Apple this should not result in worse battery life.

"Etisalat is excited that the much-anticipated iPhone will be available for customers in the UAE at the same time as their global counterparts", etisalat chief consumer officer Khaled Elkhouly said in a statement.

But traditional queues outside the technology giant's flagship retail stores may be smaller than usual, with a third new device, the ultra premium iPhone X, still to be released later in the year.

"We are a brand dedicated to empowering people through connectivity, and we are thrilled to be offering Apple's latest generation iPhone to our technology-savvy customers. the latest Apple products are set to enhance the lives of du customers".

But is this the iPhone you've been waiting for?

This can be used to unlock the phone and make payments via Apple Pay, as well control new animated emoji - named Animoji - using their facial expressions. Or will you wait until November 3 for the far more daring, big-screened, bezel-free iPhone X?

A teardown by fix specialists iFixit shows that the battery inside the iPhone 8 is a 3.82 V, 1,821 mAh cell that delivers up to 6.96 Wh of power.

The new Apple TV 4K, the first streaming box from the firm that supports ultra high definition video, also goes on sale.
