Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan dies at 73

WWE Hall of Famer Bobby Heenan.

We're told Bobby's daughter informed those close to him via Facebook and said he was surrounded by family when he passed. He flourished in this career path and was dubbed as "The Brain" for his entertainment value and knack for making the careers of great wrestlers. You don't replace people like that.

Daniel Bryan shared: "Our thoughts go out to the family of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan". Although no cause of death has been revealed yet Heenan had been battling throat cancer since 2002, an illness which took a heavy toll on his body and health. The man was, without a doubt, the greatest manager to ever step foot in the business, and added to that, he was one of the most entertaining characters to ever grace our television screens. Some of the big names that got to work with Heenan as a manager were Mr.

Also nicknamed "the Weasel", he joined WWE (then the World Wrestling Federation) in 1984 following his success in AWA. Working as a manager, he spoke on the mic for several iconic wrestlers and created "The Heenan Family".

As news of his death broke, numerous wrestling community paid tribute to Heenan and what he did for the sport. Perfect, Ric Flair, and Harley Race. Big John Studd. Ravishing Rick Rude.

Heenan was also a comedy marvel who also had the ability to make fans both hate him and laugh with him at the same time.

Heenan's constant verbal jousts with fellow WWE Hall of Famers Gorilla Monsoon and "Mean" Gene Okerlund remain among the most memorable moments in sports-entertainment history. WWE CEO Vince McMahon shared a similar sentiment, as did Triple H.
