Here's What Trump And Clinton Voters Watch

"It is distressing, though, to have a president that frankly will tweet and retweet things as juvenile as that", Schiff said on ABC's This Week programme.

The animated GIF image Trump retweeted spliced together footage of Trump taking a swing on a golf course with footage of Clinton tripping and falling as she boarded a plane in 2011 as secretary of state. The tweet shows Donald Trump swinging at a golf ball, and as the ball flies off his club, the camera angle changes.

But, this isn't the first time Trump has trolled Democrats on Twitter.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said later that day that Clinton was pushing "false narratives" in the book.

A representative for Hillary Clinton declined to remark on the tweet.

Lastly, Trump retweeted two of his own tweets, saying that, somehow, the US needs to find a way to cut terrorists off from the Internet, their main recruitment tool, and calling for a reinstatement of the travel ban after London's terrorist attack. In July, he posted a video to his account that showed him punching a physical representation of CNN in the face.

The original tweet, from a user whose Twitter handle consists of an expletive, was sent last week and retweeted Sunday by the president, who is spending the weekend at his New Jersey golf property. "She lost the debates and lost her direction!"

The message sparked a backlash on social media, with detractors assailing Mr Trump for inciting violence against a political rival.

The tweets come after a week in which Clinton has released her memoir and North Korea launched a ballistic missile over Japan. They expressed their feelings loud and clear.

"I have too little distance and too great a stake in it - instead this is my story".

David Urban, a former Trump campaign adviser, was dismissive on CNN's "State of the Union". "She spent big money but, in the end, had no game!".
