A classic summer week is ahead with warm sunshine

Highs in the mid 80s.

Any showers dissipate overnight as daytime heating wanes.

Clear skies tonight with lows in the mid to upper 60s. Lows dip into the low 60s south and mid 50s north. Humidity begins to increase across the region on a southwest flow. We think a sea breeze will keep shoreline highs in the middle 80s.

After 2 to 6 inches of rain fell across the area Friday through Saturday, we could use a few days to dry out. Heavy downpours may trigger localized nuisance flooding across low-lying roads. Highs both days will be in the mid to upper 80s under sunny skies. Mainly sunny skies on Sunday. This will also bring in low 80s by the end of the week.

Wednesday through Thursday brings some uncertainty with a cold front with one model bringing it through during the day on Thursday while the others bring it through Wednesday night. Rain won't make it into central Kansas, where it will be warmer, with highs in the low 80s (still about 10-15° cooler than average).

Temps look to peak on Wednesday with temps reaching 90 degrees, and with even higher humidity, it'll feel like a summer sizzler.

Saturday starts off mostly cloudy with a slight chance for a shower.
