Liverpool '100 per cent' won't sign Naby Keita this summer - RB Leipzig

Naby Keita has instructed his agents to secure a move this summer as Liverpool prepare to test RB Leipzig's resolve with an offer worth in excess of £70m for the midfielder, according to the Mirror.

The Guinea worldwide has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool after an impressive season with Leipzig, scoring eight goals and contributing seven assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances as the German side finished second behind Bayern Munich.

Keita was one of RB Leipzig's key players a season ago as the newly promoted club qualified for the Champions League.

"It's important that all the players stay because we are playing for the first time in the Champions League", he said.

"The chance [of him leaving] is null", he said during a press conference that followed a 1-0 defeat to Sevilla in the Emirates Cup.

"It's 100 percent that Naby will play this year at Leipzig".

"At the beginning of the transfer window we said we'll start with the same team, and with all the main players we had a year ago and that no one will go".

It remains to be seen how Rangnick's latest comments affect his relationship with Keita, who many expect to leave the east German city next summer at the very latest when his £48m release clause comes into effect.

The 22-year-old has become a hot property since scoring eight goals in 31 appearances last season to help Leipzig qualify for the Champions League. "Until next summer we will keep it closed and then we will have a look".

"For us, everyone can see how important Naby Keita is for our game", Hasenhuttl said. He knows this season will be fantastic for us.

Keita and Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk are the two players linked strongly with a move to Anfield before the transfer window shuts.

"They (Liverpool) will not be the only one I think".
