Firefighters rescue woman from boa constrictor in Ohio
Jul 30, 2017, 00:37
The dispatcher sent firefighters and police to the woman's home in Sheffield Lake, a community about 25 miles (40 kilometers) west of Cleveland in Lorain County, but seemed stumped. Boa constrictors are known to squeeze or "constrict" their prey to death.
To the dispatcher's credit, she tries her best to calm down the understandably frightened victim.
She claimed there was blood everywhere, apparently from the bite.
The woman declined to be interviewed by news outlets.
Firefighters had to cut the snake's head off the remove it from the woman's face.
Perhaps the proximity to the lake is one reason for the woman's abundance of snakes, with 11 snakes in the woman's possession prior to the snake-biting incident. She told the dispatcher that the other boa constrictor was in a cage.
During the call to 911, the dispatcher can be heard saying, "I've never heard of this before".
Paramedics then transported the woman to a local hospital where she was treated for minor injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
"Boa constrictor", the woman repeats.
The woman told the dispatcher during the call she had rescued two boa constrictors on Wednesday and that she owned nine ball pythons.
That woman on East Lake Road refused to talk about her experience Friday, but gave 911 an earful.
