Fabinho close to signing for Manchester United

Nominally a defensive midfielder, but can play at right-back, Fabinho played an instrumental role in Leonardo Jardim's side reaching last season's Champions League semi-finals as well as winning the French championship.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Red Devils have moved a step closer to signing Monaco and Brazil star Fabinho.

"Still, Manchester United are a great club and I'd think it through".

Fabinho has admitted that a move to Manchester United would be "tempting" in the summer transfer window.

The Brazilian has been linked with a move to Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho attempts to bolster his midfield ahead of next season, and the 23-year-old says he would be open to working with Mourinho again after their short time together at Real Madrid.

"I'd talk to my agent and Monaco beforehand in order for everything to be decided in the right way".

Unsurprisingly, Manchester United cropped up as a topic and Fabinho was asked what Man United shirt he would wear next season. The Brazilian is also a transfer target of Juventus although the Serie A giants are set to miss out on his signing given that they only have one slot available for non-EU player and that they are planning to fill it with either Douglas Costa or Danilo.

And the Mirror claim Fabinho could be followed to Old Trafford by Alvaro Morata as Mourinho is reportedly determined to sign a top class striker this summer and the 24-year-old is a key target.
