'Wonder Woman' has biggest opening ever for a female director

Moira MacDonald wrote for the Seattle Times that "Patty Jenkins" "Wonder Woman' is that rarity: a superhero movie with a heart". Her domestic cume now stands at $115M. And she's already been talking a great deal about what she wants to do with the Wonder Woman sequel and how excited she is to do one. This time with the help of Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious) as Wonder Woman.

The box office and critical success of Wonder Woman caught pretty much everyone off guard, including Warner Bros., who is now looking to lock director Patty Jenkins in to helm the inevitable sequel. Watching a woman dominate a movie in a male-dominated genre was such an important and wonderful experience for me and millions of other women.

Wonder Woman reached the top spot in the United Kingdom box office after its first week of release and is available in cinemas across the United Kingdom now.

In March 2017, director Patty Jenkins told EW, "The story will take place in the US, which I think is right". I'm also thinking the Vietnam War, but the 60s just had the coolest fashion -have you seen The Man from UNCLE? . She took over Wonder Woman after Michelle MacLaren left over creative differences. Director Patty Jenkins took the record from Sam Taylor-Johnson for 2015's "Fifty Shades of Grey".

A few months ago, Entertainment Weekly reported on Gadot's pregnancy, but there wasn't much buzz about it until the movie actually hit theaters. Jenkins and Gadot basically carried the fate of future female superhero movies on their shoulders, and they made that future secure. "There are so many things we asked her to do: Now do it on one foot".

The world will have to wait to find out specifics regarding the plot of Wonder Woman 2, but it's clear that the team behind the movie are passionate about telling her story and getting it right.

Fans really, really wanted Lynda Carter, who played Wonder Woman in the 1970s TV series, to appear in the film.
