Batshuayi's late victor guides Chelsea to Premier League glory

Pulis praised his players and Albion supporters for testing Chelsea, who had to dig deep before Michy Batshuayi's victor eight minutes from time.

And that's exactly what they got as Michy Batshuayi's goal edged a tight game 1-0 in their favour.

Conte's side will now aim to add another title in their account when they face Arsenal in the FA Cup final on May 27.

Their disastrous 2015/16 season saw them finish 10th, well outside European qualification.

"Our season didn't start in the right way, we had many problems, not only one".

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has had the golden touch in his first season in the English Premier League, all the way through to the title-clinching game.

'We work only nine months together and I think if you continue with these players you can improve a lot.

"The Arsenal game was frustrating for me because I didn't see anything of my work and my idea of football. And we can improve". The French global became the first player in the history of the Premier League to win back-to-back titles with different clubs.

"It wasn't easy for me to arrive in England and try different habits, a different language and inherit players after a bad season", Conte said.

Conte kept his composure during a post-match huddle with journalists on Friday night as Costa lurked menacingly, threatening to put a dampener on celebrations by jokingly brandishing a fire extinguisher.

Conte also has managed club captain John Terry's gradual fading out from the first team with grace and class.

Bored of waiting downstairs for the team bus to depart, Diego Costa and David Luiz broke into the press conference after a handful of questions and began manhandling their manager out of the stadium.

A year ago today, Chelsea were languishing in ninth place in the league.

Conte transformed Chelsea with his revolutionary 3-4-3 formation as the Blues close in on a first Premier League title under the Italian.

Make no mistake though, none of these excuses should be confused as criticizing Chelsea or Conte's work there.

At his unveiling on July 14 a year ago, Conte said: "I hope there is a small flame flickering that can eventually grow into a blazing inferno".

Costa: "Oh my God, man".

The making of the Premier League champions can be traced back to several key moments of the campaign.

"Whereas at the start of the season I think he was having a look at one or two; he was trying to understand what perhaps Chelsea had done previously that had worked for them".

"For this reason I have to say thanks to my players. It's right now to celebrate".

Conte mostly focused defense this season.

Chelsea reeled off 13 successive wins after the change and, despite a brief wobble with defeats against Crystal Palace and Manchester United, they coasted to the title in a no-nonsense style befitting their intense boss.
