- Clark criticized the NDP's announced rental subsidy plan, saying it could line the pockets of wealthy tenants who may live in penthouses in downtown Vancouver.
"It's affordable. It makes sense".
Eliminating tolls on the Port Mann and Golden Ears bridges in the Lower Mainland would be financed by draining what Horgan calls the BC Liberals' "LNG fantasy fund", established in last year's budget. Trying to meet that commitment she took $500-million from Medical Services Premium rates and put it into a phony fund. NDP leader John Horgan and Green Party leader Andrew Weaver also had public events in Vancouver to start the first day of the formal campaign.
Horgan said that as premier he would introduce an annual $400 renter's rebate if his party wins the provincial election on May 9.
- Horgan says he's already having meetings about how to distribute legal marijuana, including talks with liquor outlets, craft brewers, pharmacies and dispensaries.
Horgan says an NDP government will spend $7-billion on capital projects like roads and schools over five years and that will be added to the provincial debt.
That spending would spur economic growth and pose no threat to the province's triple-A credit rating, Horgan said. The BC NDP document doesn't add up, which will lead to deficits, downgrades, and massive tax hikes on middle class families.
In a statement, Liberal candidate Mike de Jong says there's no way for the NDP to balance the budget, which he describes as reckless.
De Jong called the New Democrats' plan "misleading in the extreme" and said British Columbia would no longer be Canada's leading economy. "I think our plan is focused on people, and we're going to be laying out our fully costed platform tomorrow". "It's nearly platform by camouflage".

All the pundits were talking about redemption , after a last-second loss in last year's title game left Tar Heelia in distress. Last season, his final at Douglas County High, Robinson averaged 23 points, 5.3 rebounds and almost four assists per game.
