TJ Lang excited to return home to MI

TJ Lang is signing with the Lions, per source.

T.J. Lang is going home.

His agent tweeted out word that Lang had agreed to a three-year contract with the Lions, keeping him in the division.

"Went back to Green Bay, they were still in the mix", Lang said during an interview with WXYZ's "Sports Cave".

Lang recently called into 7 Sports Cave in Detroit and said he narrowed his choice of teams to the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers and Lions, but wouldn't be making a rash decision. He admitted that the process has been both exciting and stressful. "Took a visit to Detroit, had a great visit there with all the coaches and everybody". Just loved the attitude around the facility.

Lang made a name for himself through his toughness during 8 seasons in Green Bay. "I'm glad I've only had to do this one time in my career".

For all we obsess over marginally improving all the areas the Lions were weak in 2016, at the beginning of March I wrote the Lions' biggest need is simply to get and keep Matthew Stafford healthy. "Hopefully it's the last time it ever happens". He signed a multi-year contract with the New Orleans Saints earlier in the week. For the Seahawks, signing Lang would be a change of course after assembling a dirt-cheap and very unimpressive offensive line in 2016, which often showed in their performances.

Lang, 29, is still rehabbing from offseason hip surgery.

"I'll definitely be ready by training camp", he confirmed.
