Axe-wielding man injures least five at Dusseldorf train station

Several people have been wounded after a man armed with axe went on a rampage in Dusseldorf train station in Germany.

Anti-terror police rushed to the scene.

In October, police say they prevented an attack on a Berlin airport by a Syrian refugee, 22-year-old Jaber al-Bakr.

German newspaper Bild reported that two suspect has been taken into custody and that two other suspects were on the loose. One of those attacked was seriously injured.

Bruno Macedo tweeted: "Man with axe chased by police in Dusseldorf".

Special police commandos arrive at the main train station in Duesseldorf, Germany, after five people were injured by at least one attacker with an ax on Thursday.

Dusseldorf train station is reportedly on lockdown as cops flood into the area. The rail station remained shut down, he added.

Police have yet to confirm details, and there are no reports of fatalities.
