Sam Allardyce's Sunderland reunion a forgettable one as Crystal Palace get hammered

It couldn't get any worse after the break for Palace, but they didn't reduce the scoreline as numerous club's supporters left way before the final whistle.

"I hope this could be the start, following on from that great point against Tottenham".

"Sometimes when you fall off the bike a little bit the best thing is to get back on quickly and Sam's done that with Palace".

"It is not often the players get much stick but they deserved the booing".

"I told (Moyes) all about the club, all the strengths and weaknesses of the club and where he had to change, in all areas", he said.

Crystal Palace have only been up at the half in one of their last eight at home against bottom-six sides, but seven of their last 10 league goals have come in the second half, and we think they'll overwhelm Sunderland in the second period.

Allardyce enjoyed the final few months of the season at Sunderland, culminating in him keeping Premier League football on Wearside and celebrating with a sell-out crowd after defeating Everton to achieve the target he was set. It was because we couldn't find the right player for the right money we had.

Patrick Van Aanholt, who recently joined Crystal Palace from Sunderland, has remarked that his new club "better than Sunderland", as quoted by the Daily Star. Draw/Crystal Palace looks promising at 4.9.

"We have not had enough opportunities". We made a couple of chances in the first half, but we need to try to get a situation where we are creating more chances.

The Crystal Palace boss is well aware of the threat Defoe carries as the striker's goals played a key role in helping Sunderland avoid the drop when he was in charge of them last term, and he has scored 12 of the Black Cats' 20 Premier League goals this season. We've got to make sure we're not too far away that the run wouldn't have an effect.

The 25-year-old, thus far unable to fulfil the promise he initially showed at Everton, has endured a bad streak since moving to the Stadium of Light from Manchester City in August 2014, failing to win any of the 37 league games in which he has been named in the starting XI for the Black Cats.
