Milwaukee's Malcolm Brogdon makes Rising Stars roster

The Pelicans defeated the Cavaliers 124-122.

All-Star weekend is coming, and the Charlotte Hornets will have at least one participant, as Frank Kaminsky has been selected to participate in the 2017 BBVA Rising Stars Challenge.

Exum and Lyles are playing in their second Rising Stars Challenge.

Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns are ready for their in-game, three-point shootout. He went through a rough stretch in December, averaging 9.0 points a game, shooting just 33.8 percent from the field and 27.6 percent from the 3-point line. Porzingis has missed time of late with Achilles woes, but the big fella still averages 19 points, seven rebounds and almost two blocks in 33.7 minutes of play for the Knicks. He led all rookies in scoring, with almost 11 points per game.

Towns is now third in the National Basketball Association in double-doubles with 33 and is 18in scoring at 21.8 points per game. The starters for this year's NBA All-Star Game have already been selected, but Towns could find out Thursday if he's been selected to the Western Conference All-Star team.

Simmons was voted into the game by the league's assistant coaches. The Wisconsin product has hit multiple three-point field goals in four consecutive games and has 15 such games on the year, ranking him fourth amongst first- and second-year forwards.

Joining Brogdon on the US team are Brandon Ingram and D'Angelo Russell of the Los Angeles Lakers; Karl-Anthony Towns (Minnesota); former Wisconsin star Frank Kaminsky (Charlotte); Marquese Chriss and Devin Booker (Phoenix); Jahlil Okafor (Philadelphia); Jonathon Simmons (San Antonio); and Myles Turner (Indiana).

The game will be televised live by TNT at 8:00 p.m. CST on Friday, Feb. 17 from the Smoothie King Center.
