Buffalo's Carl Paladino Given Ultimatum to Resign after Obama Remarks

The board of Buffalo Public Schools voted Thursday to approve a resolution calling for Carl Paladino to resign his spot on the board.

Carl Paladino, co-chairman of Donald Trump's presidential campaign in NY, reportedly says he will not resign from the Buffalo school board.

In a statement, Paladino said he had spoken "about two progressive elitist ingrates who have hated their country so badly and destroyed its fabric in so many respects in eight years".

School board member Carl Paladino, who worked as the co-chairman of Trump's NY campaign, drew national condemnation when he compared Mrs. Obama to an ape. "I was wired up, primed to be human and make a mistake".

"If possible. I will go along with whatever the commissioner does and I will stand with my other Regents".

William Paladino said on the Facebook page for the firm his father founded, Ellicott Development Company, "We do not condone the statements made about the President of the United States and his wife". Paladino's answers weren't just political-they were also incredibly racist and sexist towards the current President and First Lady.

Buffalo News reporter Tiffany Lankes posted Paladino's response on Twitter.

Carl Paladino, like many of PEOTUS's allies, appears to believe he can run his mouth - loosely connected to his brain - with impunity.

The New York politician/real estate CEO caused controversy when he casually wished mad cow disease upon President Barack Obama in an email where he simultaneously said Michelle ought to be "returned to being a male" while living out her days with a gorilla in Africa...

In a special meeting called to discuss Paladino's comments, board members voted 6 to 2 to call for his resignation.

Hours before the board met, about 300 people attended a public rally supporting Paladino's ouster.

He apologized earlier this week, saying he was "certainly not a racist" and would not step down from the school board.

Having first said the comments had "nothing to do with race", he also said they were examples of "old-style humour" intended "to wake people up ... to get people's attention".

Gov. Cuomo was quick to decry Paladino's remarks, as was a spokesperson from Trump's transition team, who called the comments "absolutely reprehensible".

By appealing to the commissioner, the board declined to exercise its own authority to remove Paladino, something that has been done in other districts.

The Buffalo Parent Teacher organization organized the protest.
