The British Airways spokesperson expressed a major statement upon hearing about the strike.
BA, the largest airline in the United Kingdom, suffered two years of industrial action between 2009 and 2011 as it was trying to cut 1,700 cabin crew jobs and freeze pay.
Unite has Swissport members at the following airports: Aberdeen, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Doncaster, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Gatwick Glasgow, Heathrow, Leeds/Bradford, Luton, Manchester, Newcastle, and Southampton and Stansted.
Post Office workers will strike next week, including on Christmas Eve, after their union said an offer it made to resolve a row over jobs, pensions and closures was rejected.

Intercontinental flights carry more passengers per plane, and scheduling is much more complex: cabin crew flying out on 23 or 24 December will be due to fly back on the strike dates, and departures on Christmas Day or Boxing Day that are cancelled because of a strike will cause cancellations on subsequent days.
Because Unite members among mixed-fleet crews account for only about 15 percent of the total the impact of any walkout will be limited, it said. The union said it barely kept pace with inflation. According to the United union, which represents these crew members, the strike could be held on December 22.
Union representatives have already voted, and 79 percent of them favored the strike over a pay dispute.

From 23 December, "pilot goodwill" will be removed, which could mean some flights not being covered, the PPU said.
The Professional Pilots' Union (PPU) said 88.6% of its members had voted in favour of the move, and that the turnout had been 80.3%.
"We are appalled that Unite proposes to disrupt customers' travel plans on such special days when so many families are trying to gather together or set off on well-deserved holidays".
Roughly 300,000 passengers a day, the population of Iceland, have been affected by the walkouts.
"We need a crack down with tougher laws to stop unions wrecking the lives of the British people".
