Rob Gronkowski Doesn't Travel With Patriots, Likely Out In Week 1

The New England Patriots confirmed that on Friday by listing TE Gronkowski as questionable for the their regular season opener - Sunday Football Night's game - against the Arizona Cardinals.

Gronkowski has been battling a hamstring injury he suffered August 15 in practice.

Rob Gronkowski was surprisingly honest when asked about the condition of his hamstring on Thursday, and the response he gave might worry New England Patriots fans.

While the Patriots do not have to declare Gronkowski out until Saturday evening, the leak may be accurate.

With Gronkowski out Sunday, Edelman and newly acquired tight end Martellus Bennett will need to step up for first-time starter Garoppolo.

Gronkowski, who didn't play a single game in the preseason, has been limited since the injury.

The Patriots released center Bryan Stork and placed right tackle Sebastian Vollmer on the physically unable to perform list at the end of camp. Gronk was to play at the University of Phoenix Stadium a week following the Wildcats Campus Kickoff game that took place in the same stadium. But for a brief moment in time, Gronkowski forgot to utter the robotic phrase "I'm just focused on the [insert team name here]". On late swap sites, Jordan Reed is the clear pivot as he's priced in a similar range and possesses a almost identical floor/ceiling, but Martellus Bennett will be the NE pass-catcher to benefit the most. Solder also was listed as questionable on the team's injury report earlier Friday with a hamstring injury, while Cooper was questionable with a foot injury.
