Team USA races for gold in men's 4x400

The men of Team USA - LaShawn Merritt, 30, Gil Roberts, 27, Tony McQuay, 26, and Arman Hall, 22 - celebrate after winning gold in the men's 4x400m relay on Saturday (August 20) at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics!

The United States ran their best time of the year to win gold in the men's 4x400m relay at the Rio Olympics on Saturday.

Jamaica took silver, and Great Britain bronze. Courtney Okolo ran the first leg, followed by Taylor Ellis-Watson, McCorory and Phyllis Francis. Merritt, serving as Team USA's anchor, added another medal to his career.

Felix got the baton with a slight lead on Jamaica, but stretched it to about 15 meters in the final straight to finish in 3:20.04.

McCorory also won Olympic gold in the 4x400 in London in 2012.

Arman Hall started the relay for the US and passed the baton to Tony McQuay, who handed off to Gil Roberts. The Bahamas won silver in 2008 and gold in 2012.

He won bronze in the 400 earlier this week in Rio.
