Americans add more medals as gymnastics comes to a close in Rio

Aug 21, 2016, 01:37

"I'm a little bit relieved because it's been a long journey".

American gymnast Simone Biles has as many Olympic and World Championship medals as she has years. "I've enjoyed every single moment of it. We just wanted to end on a good note".

So after Biles picked up gold number four in the women's floor exercise, Efron decided it was time he met his new hero, and the gymnast's reaction to the surprise proved that while she may be an unstoppable Olympic powerhouse, she's just like any other teenager in the presence of a Hollywood heartthrob.

"It's very insane. To think what I've done, its been an unbelievable experience and I don't think I could be more proud of myself", Biles added.

Her push for five golds was thwarted Monday when she had a misstep on the balance beam, taking home the bronze medal behind teammate Laurie Hernandez's silver. It is extremely likely that Biles will be back to continue her domination of the sport, while Raisman and Leyva, who have now attended multiple Olympics, are probably done competing internationally.

"Your first Olympics you walk away with five medals, that's not tough [disappointing] at all", she said. She is arguably the most internationally famous of the U.S. "final five", the country's team of gold medal winners.

When Zac tweeted his well-wishes ahead of the games, she gushed: "OH MY GOSH I THINK I AM GOING TO PASS OUT OH MY GOSH CRYING!" It cemented her amongst the Olympics greats.
