Cruz, Kasich team up in shock stop-Trump partnership

Billionaire Donald Trump blasted rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich on Monday (April 25) for reaching a deal to divide up three state primary contests in an attempt to block the front-runner from winning the Republican Party's presidential nomination.
Speaking to several thousand people Sunday evening in Maryland, Trump stressed repeatedly that he expects to win the 1,237 delegates needed in the first round of voting in Cleveland to stave off a contested convention.
Weaver added that Kasich's campaign expected to "to compete with both the Trump and Cruz campaigns in the remaining primary states".
"Having Donald Trump at the top of the ticket in November would be a sure disaster for Republicans", said Jeff Roe, Mr Cruz's campaign manager.
Naturally, Candidate Doomsday was less than intimidated by the team-up.

However, the Spaniards are likely to be without lynchpin Diego Godin for the first leg due to a hamstring injury. Atletico, yet to win the competition, is in the semifinals for the third time in three seasons.
For weeks, Cruz has portrayed Kasich as nothing but a spoiler who has kept Republicans from rallying around the single candidate - Cruz himself, in his view - who can unite the party against Trump.
"I've never told them not to vote for me". A contested convention has become their only possible path to stop Trump from being the nominee.
He continues to mock Ted Cruz and John Kasich for their so-called "alliance" against him, calling it weak and pathetic. That primary is May 3.
While some groups opposing Mr Trump welcomed the Cruz-Kasich pact, which some Republicans have urged for weeks, other political strategists questioned whether the deal comes too late.
"If you collude in business, or if you collude in the stock market, they put you in jail", Trump said as he campaigned in Rhode Island. "It's all about husbanding resources and trying to stop Hillary Clinton", Kasich said. We are very comfortable with our delegate position in IN already, and given the current dynamics of the primary there, we will shift our campaign's resources West and give the Cruz campaign a clear path in Indiana.

Australia's governments have continually repeated the mantra that the measures are grounded in national security. The PNG government has said it plans to close down the Manus center, but has provided no timetable.
In addition to Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland and Rhode Island hold primaries on Tuesday.
Trump now leads the race with 846 pledged delegates.
More problematically, just half of Kasich supporters said Cruz was their second choice - 22 percent said they would prefer Trump, and another 22 percent opted for neither.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton has mobilized a coalition of IN lawmakers and community leaders for support and Vermont Sen.
After Cruz called Trump's scathing response to the agreement "desperation", a reporter asked the Texas senator at a Monday press conference whether the decision to team up with Kasich is a "Hail Mary".
Prince Autopsy Completed ... Still No Cause of Death
Spokeswoman Martha Weaver says she expects the process will take days or even weeks for tests to be completed. Authorities say it could be weeks before the results of the postmortem and toxicology exam are made public.
It would be nearly impossible for Mrs. Clinton to amass enough delegates on Tuesday night to clinch the Democratic nomination, even including superdelegates.
