Bernie Sanders Nearly Catches Up With Hillary Clinton In California

Bernie Sanders Friday morning said "of course" Hillary Clinton is qualified to be President of the United States.

While his tone has shifted as the race has grown more combative on both sides, Sanders' campaign argues that he has kept his promise. Meantime, he said, "I would hope to see (Sanders) compete and continue to campaign".

Later on Thursday night: On MSNBC's Racel Maddow, Sanders' wife, Jane Sanders, said her husband would no longer say that Clinton is unqualified, and acknowledged that it was probably a mistake.

And today, opposing Democrat Hillary Clinton tried to demonstrate her deft superiority by riding the subway, but had to swipe her MetroCard several times before figuring out how the thing worked. "In saying that, I don't mean to be sarcastic, we all make mistakes".

"After we won in Wisconsin, which was our sixth victory in seven caucuses and primaries, I think the Clinton campaign has been getting a little bit nervous, and I think they have been getting more negative", Sanders said.

Clinton and Sanders have spent much of the past week in NY, which holds its contest on April 19 and where a total of 291 delegates are up for grabs.

According to the poll, 90 percent of Virginia Democratic primary voters said they would support Clinton in November, while only 67 percent of Republican primary voters said they would support Trump. Forget it, says Bernie Sanders. "Obviously she does. She was secretary of state, a US senator, I thought an outstanding first lady in many respects, breaking the mold", he said.
