Microsoft embraces conversation as new user interface

At the Build 2016 developers conference, Microsoft announced that its Windows 10 Anniversary Update will be soon coming to PCs, tablets, phones, Xbox One, Microsoft HoloLens and IOT.

Microsoft Built 2016, developers conference have been a colorful event, as the software giant has been actively promoting the upcoming major update, which is all set to hit this summer and will be called the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

A child stands at a computer display stand for the Windows 10 operating system at the Microsoft store at Roosevelt Field in Garden City, New York July 29, 2015.

We can expect some limitations, but the idea is pretty novel, and Microsoft further plans to make "dismiss all" option available too on PC for Android notifications. The news isn't so great for iPhone users as the more tightly controlled nature of iOS means Microsoft has a harder task on its hands. Dubbed the "Anniversary Update", the free Windows 10 update will support biometric authentication, add Windows Ink, and an improved Cortana.

Windows Hello lets users sign in to their device with enterprise-grade security. The Anniversary Update will also bring the Cortana assistant to Xbox One, and will eventually lead to the implementation of some of the most-requested fan features, like Background Music on Xbox One. But unlike the Microsoft-built Cortana, Facebook sometimes done these using only human inputs.

Before Microsoft's console was released, the company revealed that every retail machine would double as a dev kit, opening the doors for budding game creators to build for the platform. Apart from being available in over a 1,000 apps, Cortana will also be available right on your lock screen. Microsoft also announced a developer mode for Xbox One which can be enabled in any console.

Ok, so we know that Microsoft has said they are to offer Windows 10 Mobile support for some older phones, but the rollout has been slow - which that's an understatement.
