Broncos acquire QB Mark Sanchez for conditional 2017 draft pick

The Eagles signed Sam Bradford to a two-year deal on March 1 and inked Chase Daniel to a multi-year deal this week, effectively ending Sanchez's stay in Philly.

Sanchez, the ill-fated New York Jets top draft pick went from franchise QB to recurring tabloid punching bag following his early career struggles in the NFL.

The Broncos have been in discussions with the San Francisco 49ers about trading for quarterback Colin Kaepernick, and have explored other free agent options, including Ryan Fitzpatrick and Robert Griffin III.

Although, Broncos GM John Elway says this is the first step in their process and Sanchez will compete.

Sanchez, 29, is due $4.5 million next season in the final year of his contract.
