Arizona vs Wichita State Thursday in Rhode Island

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament begins Tuesday with the First Four, and swings into full action on Thursday with first-round games.

Wichita State couldn't claim the MVC's tournament championship, falling to Northern Iowa 57-50 in the semifinals, but it does bring back guards Ron Baker and Fred VanVleet from last year's Sweet 16 run.

Wichita State is one of the better defensive teams in the country, no doubt, ranking No. 1 in defensive efficiency in allowing just 88.6 points per 100 possessions.

The No. 17 Arizona Wildcats will face the Wichita State Shockers in the first round of the "big dance" on Thursday, March 17 at 6:20 p.m. (Tucson time) on TNT.

Riley LaChance and Joe Toye each had 10 points to lead the way for the Commodores. As a freshman in 2013 they played roles on a team that advanced to the Final Four.

Asked after the game if he would need stitches, he said, "No, I'm not a stitches guy, I don't do needles".

The victor of Tuesday's game moves on to play North Carolina, the No. 1 seed in the East Regional.

"The funniest thing for me was going into the barbershop and I had no idea what I was actually going to say, so I had to practice my terms, you know, getting the fade with the two and then getting three parts, so that's what I had to practice", Henderson told News 2 with a laugh. He finished with five points. Wichita State wouldn't want it any other way.
