"Drinking alcohol increases the risk of a number of different cancers".

Data from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) shows Scotland had the second highest number of people bingeing on their units at 13 per cent, beaten only by Wales with 14 per cent.

Research by the TUC found that weekly earnings for zero-hours workers are £188, compared to £479 for permanent employees.

ONS statisician Jamie Jenkins said: "It's clear from these figures that although there are now more people, especially younger ones, who don't drink alcohol at all, there is still a significant group of other people who are drinking well in excess of the latest health advice".

"People in our most deprived communities are eight times more likely to need hospital treatment and six times more likely to die because of alcohol".

Richardson said the BCCI could not be blamed for this because the state governments take responsibility for security. A report on Geo News cited officials as saying that concerns over security have prompted the decision.

TUC General Secretary Frances O'Grady said zero-hours contracts can be a "nightmare" for workers. In comparison 10% of other people in employment wanted more hours. Some 38% of people on zero-hours contracts are aged 16 to 24, and 23% of all workers on these contracts are in full-time education.

'The so-called flexibility these contracts offer is far too one-sided.

"The European Union is proposing better rights for zero-hours workers - another reason why workers should be anxious about the risks of Brexit".

Two-fifths (39%) of zero-hours workers earn less than £111 a week - the qualifying threshold for statutory sick pay - compared to 1 in 12 (8%) permanent employees.

The use of zero-hour contracts has risen significantly in the last three months so that one in 40 United Kingdom workers are now using the controversial arrangements.

The UBS scheme was described by Lord Justice Reed as "completely arbitrary" and "having no business or commercial rationale " . The shares were then awarded to the employees in place of bonuses.

The youngest people in the workforce make up a huge number of those on zero-hours contract. These contracts favour the employers over the employees.

"This pay-as-you-go employment causes issues and judging by the comments on Glassdoor, this is not a preferred choice of employment in the long term".

"The scale of the crisis of insecure work under the Tories is getting worse with every passing week", he said in a statement.

"Before the election they promised to act on zero-hours contracts, but these numbers show that was nothing more than words".

Ahead of George Osborne's Budget, Mr Smith called on the Chancellor to announce policies aimed at combating "exploitative" zero-hours contracts.

Wenger shrugs of fans protest
I believe it is treated like that because when I listen to people, should we lose a game in the FA Cup, it would be a disaster. Aaron Ramsey nearly scored an own goal to let Hull back in but Giroud volleyed in to extend Arsenal's lead.

A zero-hour contract, also known as a low-hour contract, is a type of contract where the employer purports to have the discretion to vary the employee's working hours. "The numbers of zero-hour contracts has grown rapidly across the past year, so they are now a key component of the United Kingdom jobs market".
