In Michigan, Bernie Sanders Bests Hillary Clinton and the Polls

Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton each won their party primaries in Mississippi, US networks said on Tuesday that cementing their frontrunner status in the White House nomination race.

With about half of precincts reporting in Michigan, Trump had the support of 37% of voters in the Wolverine State, compared with 25% for Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who had campaigned and spent heavily in the state, and 24% for Ted Cruz.

"Change can not take place without political participation", another tweet read, encouraging MS and MI voters to visit the polls.

"Little Marco Rubio, you know he's a no-show in the U.S. senate", Trump said Monday during a campaign stop in Concord, North Carolina.

But Cruz won in Idaho, bolstering his argument that he is the party's chief alternative to Trump. "It was a close race".

With 130 delegates, MI was the second-largest prize of the election so far, but the proportional system used throughout the presidential primary by Democrats means Clinton will still end the night ahead thanks to a decisive win in Mississippi.

Team president Joe Ellis told Manning, "If there is a list of achievements needed to attain greatness, you've checked every box". I love the game", he said. "Well, I fought the good fight, I've finished my football race and after 18 years, it's time".

Republicans were also voting on Tuesday in Idaho and Hawaii.

In the Democratic race it is hard to identify any candidate as the victor based on Tuesday's primary results.

As in other Southern states, Mrs. Clinton's victory in MS rested on support from almost 9 in 10 African-American voters, exit polls showed.

MI was the biggest state to watch, with 59 delegates available to Republicans and 130 to Democrats.

Clinton holds a sizable lead in Florida, according to a RealClearPolitics average of recent polls showing her more than 31 percentage points ahead, but the pre-primary polls in mi also showed her with a healthy lead.

That's not impossible - Sanders has won bigger margins than that in some states, including Minnesota and Colorado. Clinton won in MS, but Sanders' victory is seen as likely to ensure a prolonged fight to pick a candidate for November's general election. On Wednesday morning, Trump had 458 delegates, a lead of 99 over Cruz.

Among Republicans, Trump has at least 446 delegates and Cruz has at least 347.

Idaho's Republican primary is expected to draw thousands
Among Florida likely Republican primary voters, Trump leads Rubio 39 - 27 percent among women and 50 - 17 percent among men. Keep the Promise I has said it intends to compete in the Sunshine State, which holds its winner-take-all primary March 15.

Instead, they rejected Clinton, who supported NAFTA when Bill Clinton signed it, and who has only recently become a critic of big trade deals that have helped destroy manufacturing jobs in this country.

Republicans meanwhile were in an intensifying race that will soon tell whether Trump's march toward the Republican nomination can be broken by rivals led by Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

His surprise victory also probably has to do with the fact that younger voters, who tend to favor Sanders over Clinton, turned out in greater than expected numbers.

In the Democratic contest, Bernie Sanders stunned front-runner Hillary Clinton in a narrow upset in MI, giving his upstart campaign new energy.

That kind of performance is certain to spook the anti-Trump wing of the GOP establishment, which is counting on native sons-Rubio in Florida and Kasich in Ohio-to deny victories to Trump in the winner-take-all contests in those states next week. Polls showed him down by twenty points against Hillary Clinton in MI. So tonight's debate is important for both candidates.

"I don't buy this argument", he said.

"I voted for the auto bailout and he voted against it", she repeated Monday while visiting a small software firm in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Sanders has 571. A Democratic candidate needs 2,383 total delegates to win the nomination. For Sanders, he will hope to build on his MI win and prove that he really can make inroads with diverse states with diverse populations - a case he must make quickly before Clinton nabs the delegates needed to win the endorsement for herself.
