Goaltending could be an issue (though John Gibson isn't a bad option for a team with such a low age cap), but seeing McDavid and Eichel on the same roster is the real draw here. The rest of the veteran roster hails from six other European countries, and the squad essentially exists as a catch-all so the National Hockey League and NHLPA don't have to leave out some of the most recognizable names in the game. The challenge of the World Cup is getting players who rarely play together to learn to play as a team within two weeks and compete.
