Trump on Romney in 2012: 'He Would Have Dropped to His Knees'

Flashback to February 2, 2012, as the Republican presidential nominee, Romney gladly accepted and praised Donald Trump's support in a press conference at a Trump hotel in Las Vegas. Now, Trump is the lead horse in this race and the GOP reaches out to Romney to get the American people (aka Republicans and Independents interested in Trumping the vote) to change their ever-loving, collective minds.

He told reporters Monday, however, that he'd support whomever Republicans nominate for president.

Romney, the GOP's presidential nominee four years ago, unleashed a public plea in the strongest terms for Republican voters to shun the former reality television star for the good of country and party. "I'll just address it quickly because it's irrelevant", Trump said, before going on to speak about Romney at length.

"Think of Donald Trump's personal qualities, the bullying, the greed, the showing off, the misogyny, the absurd third grade theatrics", said Romney, adding: "His bankruptcies have crushed small businesses and the men and women who worked for them".

The 2012 nominee is not expected to make any other announcements in his speech today.

Pell was asked on Thursday if he agreed with some Australian commentators' opinion that he was "the target of a witch-hunt". Cardinal Pell has faced a total of about 20 hours of questions over four days.

The back-and-forth comes as Republican candidates prepared for the first post-Super Tuesday debate, scheduled for Thursday in Detroit, with Trump coming under increasing pressure from his party as he fights for the majority of delegates needed to win the nomination.

Romney's sentiment score, a measure of how positively users discuss a topic, was slightly higher than Trump's following the speech, according to Zoomph. I predict that there are more bombshells in his tax returns.

He called on Trump to also ask The New York Times to release the recording of an off-the-record conversation he had with the newspaper's editorial board.

Trump kicked off an anti-Romney social media tirade late Wednesday night, posting a Facebook video accusing the former MA governor of being soft on cornerstone conservative issues, including immigration and abortion.

In his speech Thursday, Romney calls this moment a "time for choosing" that will "have profound consequences for the Republican Party and more importantly, for the country".

Looks like Jared Fogle might be able to fit back into those size 60 waist trousers from the old Subway commercials pretty soon. A recently released inmate also reportedly told the site that Fogle is not exactly making friends in prison either.

It wasn't always so contentious between the two Republican businessmen.

The GOP front-runner also tweeted he is the only GOP candidate capable of beating Hillary Clinton.

"I understand the anger Americans feel today", Romney plans to say, but adds: "Here's what I know".

Trump said he heard Romney "made a fairly long speech" earlier in the day. "Hillary wants no part of 'Trump'".

Romney had mulled another run but announced in January 2015 that he would not seek the nomination.
