Louis County Gets Ready For Zika Virus

The Government of South Australia confirmed a 14th nationwide case of the mosquito-borne Zika virus, the Department for Health and Ageing (SA Health) said on Wednesday.

While sexual transmission of Zika virus is possible, it is primarily transmitted to people by Aedes species mosquitoes.

"The reason we're not too concerned is that this isn't a readily transmitted disease person to person", said David Heaton, Southern Utah Health Department public information officer. The Spokane woman was tested based on CDC guidance that all pregnant women who traveled to a place with a Zika outbreak during pregnancy receive antibody testing for the virus.
