Her death was announced on Twitter in a statement from the family written by Vinnie Medugno.

Raiola's friend added that she was surrounded by love from her immediate family and closest friends.

Her rep released a statement saying Ang passed at 3:01 a.m. "I think whoever smokes should quit, and if they didn't start, don't start".

She was first diagnosed with throat cancer last April (15), at which point doctors removed a tumour in her throat.
