MWC 2016: $229 ARCHOS Diamond 2 Plus with 4GB RAM and 64GB

The tablets from the France-based electronics company will be officially unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2016. Both devices will however be on show at MWC next week.

"The company's new high-end Oxygen products, powered by great new technologies, will empower our customers to choose reasonably priced, quality products", says Loic Poirier, the CEO of Archos. A little over a week ago, ARCHOS confirmed one of their new smartphones will be the ARCHOS 50d Oxygen and this was then followed by a further announcement this week about the launch of three new tablets which will join the Oxygen line up. The display resolution of the two smaller tablets is 1920x1200 while the 10-inch has a slightly higher resolution of 1920x1280. These will have a range of screen sizes, but prices that will come in under £120. It will also be accompanied by 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 20MP rear-facing camera with dual LED flash an 8MP front-facing camera, a fingerprint sensor, and a 3,000mAh battery.

"Boasting of a sleek aluminum back casing, Archos' new Oxygen tablets will arrive in a trio of display sizes as you can tell by their name - 7", 8" and 10.1", and every single one of them will offer crisp images in full HD with a visually striking IPS screen. All are going to be powered by an A53 generation MTK8163 quad-core processor running at 1.3 GHz, with 2 GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage.

When it comes to pricing, the Archos 70 will cost £75 (roughly $107), the Archos 80 will retail for £99.99 (about $143), while the Archos 101b will go up to £119 (about $170).
