Fox Orders a Lethal Weapon Pilot and Casts Its Murtaugh

Warner Bros. Pictures is producing the Lethal Weapon TV show, which will follow Martin Riggs, a former Navy SEAL turned police officer who moves from Texas to Los Angeles after the tragic loss of his wife and child. Television still hasn't cast the Martin Riggs part Mel Gibson played. There, he gets partnered with LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh (Wayans, Sr.), who, having recently suffered a "minor" heart attack, must avoid any stress in his life.

Cable is hot on the trend too - just this week, USA Network picked up "Shooter", based on the Mark Wahlberg film.
