Amazon founder wants to send Donald Trump to space

The Amazon CEO, who owns the Washington Post and private space company Blue Origin, sent a rare tweet Monday night after presidential candidate Donald Trump hurled a few 140-character or less comments his way regarding Bezos' companies.

But Bezos hit back, using it as an opportunity to promote his space travel company Blue Origin.

So it's not clear at all how Amazon can use the paper's losses as an excuse to pay lower taxes.

Under Bezos, however, the Post news room has been revitalized and a much-read Post column - "The Fix" - has fixed its sights on Trump, delivering dead-on hits at his hucksterism and demagoguery.

Mr Bezos personally owns the Post and it has no direct impact on Amazon's tax position, though Amazon Prime subscribers can access the newspaper for free.

Trump apparently had issues with the Washington Post newspaper after it, like many other United States newspapers, had pointed out that his policies and persona veer between ludicrous and fascistic, said the report. This came as a response to Trump, who had mocked Bezos' business acumen.

If the hashtag Bezos included in his Twitter post - #sendDonaldtoSpace - is any indication, this idea is really picking up steam!

Check out Bezos' reusable rocket as it takes its first developmental test flight in the video clip below. "Finally trashed by @realDonaldTrump", the Amazon owner wrote.

But a number of economic experts and finance reporters said Trump's accusation made no sense.
