Carrie Fisher says banning Princess Leia gold bikini merchandise is 'stupid'

The 59-year-old Princess Leia actress ordered star treatment for her French Bulldog Gary as they toured the Scottish countryside earlier this year. But not with Carrie Fisher, giver of zero cares, who turned a "Star Wars" discussion into a comedy routine. I have that as a large part of the association with my identity, ' she told Time.

"I think it's stupid", Fisher tells The Wall Street Journal.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will introduce viewers to many new faces but some beloved characters from the initial films in the blockbuster franchise will return for the latest installment.

The film will be released wide Dec. 16 in France, Dec. 17 in the United Kingdom and Dec. 18 in North America.

Speaking to the New York Daily News newspaper, she said: "What's amusing is I wish I had known I was a sex symbol". However in recent times, her portrayal of Princess Leia in her slave outfit has caught the questionable eye of concerned parents everywhere.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is out on December 17.

"The fact is, people are always going to want to see their favorite characters in a sexy pose, especially if they actually are sexy. I'm not, she is", Fisher said jokingly.

She first started making waves last week, when she noted that producers wanted her to lose weight to play General Leia.

But in The Force Awakens, fans have been promised more girl power, and Fisher's character has even been promoted to General status. "And so she's had some life experiences that are complex". I showed it to Billie [Lourd, her daughter] when she was six, but she said to me it's too loud and didn't want to watch it. Go look at the poster, they snuck it in. "No", replied Fisher. "I'm a female in Hollywood over the age of - let's say 40 and we could also say 50 ... they don't have to ask you to work at that age".
